FreeRTOS+POSIX Policy

Posted by imbyungwkwan on January 14, 2019

I was interested FreeRTOS+POSIX. I have downloaded the labs and have ported FreeRTOS+POSIX on my system and testing.

Q: When will the official release of FreeRTOS+POSIX? is it scheduled?

Q: i have seen a comment " contact us directly if you have a specific business interest. " on freeRTOS+POSIX site page. so i want to know that Can i use FreeRTOS+POSIX source code on my product? or not?

Now, Is FreeRTOS-POSIX provided under the MIT open source license ?

Regards.

I'm not sure yet as there will be a fair amount of rework before the official release. Hopefully the rework will improve the run-time efficiency (use fewer mutexes, etc.), and that may require some minor updates to the kernel too.

That 'contact us' comment is nothing to do with whether you can use it or not....

....the code is MIT licensed (as per the text at the top of every source file) so you are free to do anything that license permits - but note the caveats on the labs site that the software is neither complete or fully tested yet.
